Matthew 5:8

 A Moment Of Truth

"Blessed are the pure in heart; for they shall see God." Matthew 5:8

(Heb. 12: 14) "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord." Would you want to spend eternity with those who dislike everything you love?  God commanded men to be holy, as He is holy (Lev. 19:2).  They are the people He would spend eternity with.

What does it mean to have a pure or holy heart?  The simplest definition I've heard is . . . "A heart that desires and agrees with all the desires and purposes of God, the desires of the natural man are contrary to desires of God.
The bible says the heart "is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked . . "  Out of the heart, springs fort all manner of evil actions.  If a wicked man is to spend eternity with a holy God, the man must be changed! The groundwork for change was made on the cross, at calvary. At calvary, He satisfied His own holy requirement of justice, for evil, and purchased His own (morally legal) right to give men a SECOND CHANCE!

The second chance comes when evil man  realizes his condition and pleads for mercy, through Jesus. on condition of repentance and obedience.  He receives absolute forgiveness of ALL sins ever committed.

Finally, God give the man His very own Spirit to live in him.  The Holy Spirit gives man access to the love, nature, will, and knowledge of the deep things of God. (1 Cor. 2:10) Even when some people have tried the good things of God, they decide they love the world more and turn back. Some decide they love God and His Way.  Following His path purifies our desires and line our hearts with His.........THEN WE SHALL SEE GOD!
