Leviticus 11:45, & 19:2

 A Moment Of Truth

BE HOLY?   DON'T BE RIDICULOUS!

God would never COMMAND us to do what is impossible.    In Leviticus 11:45, & 19:2 God commanded,  "Be ye holy, for I am holy)  What is holiness?  HOLINESS is GODLINESS!  Maybe that sounds even more of an impossibility.  How can humans be holy?  2Pet. 1:3 "God, according to His DIVINE POWER, has given  unto us ALL things that pertain unto life (eternal) and GODLIDESS." Verse 4 says He has given us great PROMISES, that "By these ye might be partakers of the DIVINE NATURE."  This tell us that God has made it POSSIBLE for believers to have His very own
nature (HOLY)!  Verse 3 tells us how, . . . . "Through the KNOWLEDGE of Him Who has called us . . . . "  After conversion, we turn to the BIBLE , which God uses to give us knowledge about Himself.  As we hear and DO the word, we are made clean, (John 15:3)  We are washed by the water of the word, (Eph. 5:26)  When we stop lying, we are a little cleaner; stop adultery, a little cleaner; cheating, cleaner; drunkeness, cleaner!

BIBLE knowledge,  God's "exceeding great PROMISES",  infilling of the HOLY SPIRIT, and DIVINE POWER,  should remove any excuse a Christian may have, for not obeying the commandment to be holy. Titus wrote (2:12) "we should live soberly, righteously and GODLY, in this PRESENT world.  . . . . . GODLY. NOW!  Just saying . . . . . . . ..!
