Mark 10: 48-49

"And many charged him that he should hold his peace; but he cried the more a great deal,  Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.   AND JESUS STOOD STILL" (Mark 10: 48-49)

Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, knew that Jesus was nearby.  He had heard that Jesus had healed others, and Bartimaeus wanted to see.  Now, Jesus was walking along the road near where he was sitting.  NOW WAS HIS CHANCE;  Perhaps the only chance he would ever have to be touched by Jesus.  He shouted for Jesus' attention!  Many around him tried to shut him up.  Perhaps he was distracting them, or an embarrassment.  Whatever the reason, they wanted him quiet.  WHAT IF HE HAD LISTENED to the voice of the crowd?

Has there ever been a time in your life, when you sensed the nearness of Jesus and wanted to call out to him....to shout, jump, or do something to get His attention?  Did you shout or jump;  or did you let fear of what others might think quench the Spirit?  We know exactly what happened then....NOTHING.  The moment passed and a blessing was missed.

Bartimaeus wasn't about to miss his opportunity.  He shouted all the louder, AND JESUS STOPPED.
When Bartimaeus left there, with Jesus, he could see.  Don't let fear of others quench the Spirit in you.  Pour out the passion in your soul before Jesus.  It was the passionate cry, of a needy soul, that Jesus heard above all others!

   HE WILL HEAR YOURS TOO!
