Matthew 22:40

 MOMENT OF TRUTH
Stanley Hamilton

(Matt. 22:40)  "On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets."

Jesus said that everything written in the law and preached by the prophets, could be fulfilled in two commandments; Love God with your whole being, and your fellow man as yourself.

Most people tend to treat others according to the treatment they receive.  This is the WORLD'S way.  "You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours." . . . .or . . . "Kick me and I'll kill you."

Jesus advised us to "Do unto others as we would have them do unto us", but He COMMANDED  (John 13:34) "A new COMMANDMENT I give unto you: that you love one another as I have loved you,"   The love of Jesus is unconditional.

To love others as He loved means we are to treat our spouses, our friends, neighbors, co-workers NOT AS THEY DESERVE, but as God COMMANDED!  Love is an ACTION word, not just an emotion.
We are not to respond to others according to how they treat us, but according to how God treats us!

Do you follow Jesus?
