A poor (humble) spirit, is the beginning of God's blessing in our lives. Until a person comes to the realization that they ARE NOT the center of the universe, and that they ARE NOT the master of their own destiny, . . . . it is unlikely that they will ever feel the need, or desire to know THE ONE who is!
BLESSED is the person who comes to know and ADMIT their own spiritual poverty and emptiness. It is THEN, the Holy Spirit (Who brought them this knowledge), nudges them to begin that search, which ends in the kingdom of heaven!
