Acts 2:46-47

 A Moment of Truth
Stanley Hamilton

(Acts 2:46-47)   "And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat wit gladness and singleness of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people.  And the Lord added to the church daily, such as should be saved."

Been enjoying some pleasant memories from my years in the church.  Wonder if you share the same ones I do?
Remember a greeter giving you a visitors card when you walked in the door? (that was because they cared enough to really want to know who you are and to invite you again.)

Remember when pastor's visited in your home?  You didn't even have to be sick or in the hospital!
Do  you remember going home with church family for hot dogs (instead of noisy restaurants), and returning, together, for the evening service? (Most churches had one)

Do you remember Prayer Meeting, when people got together for no other purpose than prayer?
Do you remember when the Pastoral prayer lasted more than 90 seconds?
Do you remember nights of visitation, where folks gathered at the church, to call on new visitors, and absentees?
Do you remember hymns that told stories of God's faithfulness and invitation?  And if you responded, there was an altar for prayer?
Do you remember days of stained glass windows and sunlight, instead of strobe lights, and you could actually see who was sitting next to you?

Our scripture tells of a church where the people were totally, personally involved with Jesus and each other.....like church USED TO BE!  God blessed and ADDED to that church DAILY.  Most churches today are nearly empty, many closed.

Can it be that there was something to the

OLD TIME RELIGION?
