STILL PREACHIN
Stanley Hamilton
(Matthew 6:8) "Do not be like them, for your father knows what you need BEFORE you ask Him." (NIV)
Marsha was preparing the evening meal. "This is the last meat in the freezer." she said. As usual, our budget was already spent for the next week.....so no meat for a while . . . . . .unless . . . . Want to pray about it," she asked, taking my hand. We bowed our heads and the phone rang. Mr. Mac was on the line. "Pastor, he said, Can you do a favor for me? I have a side of beef coming tomorrow and still have a lot in my freezer. Will you take what is in my freezer, so I'll have room?" Being the generous man that I am, I naturally agreed to help him out. I had to excuse myself with Mr. Mac, because there was someone knocking at the door. Mr. Johns stood at the door, holding 2 large grocery bags, and another at his feet. "Pastor, I've got something for you. We tried to sell our freezer for months. It didn't sell. We decided to restock it last night and bought meat. This morning it sold. Will you please take this meat, so it won't spoil?" Being the kind friend that I am, how could I refuse?
THE POINT:
(1) Mr. Mac was already dialing his phone BEFORE we bowed our heads in prayer.
(2) Mr. Johns lived 4 miles away and was already on the way to our home,
BEFORE WE EVEN ASKED! (Matt. 6:8)
