(Romans 12:2, NKJV) "And do not be CONFORMED to this world, but be TRANSFORMED by the renewing of your mind . . . ."
The Christian is expected to go through a complete transformation, when Jesus becomes their Lord. They are now to put on "the mind of Christ." (1 Cor.2) There is nothing, that is offered by this world, that can do that. To identify with the world makes us a ENEMY OF GOD (James 4:4) Why does love of the world bring condemnation?
The worlds main interests are greed, sex and violence. God is holy, pure and love. OUR THINKING MUST BE CHANGED TO HIS STANDARD! How can we know God's standard?
The BIBLE is His instruction book (2 Tim. 3:16). It tells what God wants IN your mind, and lifestyle and what He wants OUT of your mind and life! SIMPLE! Replace the bad with the good. . . . . .Good in . . .Bad out.
A good starting place, is BLOCKING the bad. Deny access to tempting , worldly sights, ie., . . . How hard is it to turn A T.V channel off of a filthy movie, (unless you are ENJOYING what you are viewing). Why stand around (even with best friends) to listen (and laugh) at their smutty jokes and cursing. You can't stop everything, but YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE to do what you can. Keep out of places and away from people that put filth in your life.
You are made clean and more Christlike, as you conform your mind and lifestyle to God's Word.
HEAVEN OR HELL HANG IN THE BALANCE!
